Description

Montalcino is a Medieval hill-top town in Tuscany dominated by an imposing fortress. The town is best known for its wines, being home to Brunello di Montalcino, one of the world’s most famous red wines. This town is perfect for a stroll on its atmospheric streets or for a quick shopping in local specialty food stores. The historical center grows around Piazza del Popolo, where the 14th century Palazzo dei Priori is located. Montalcino is also famous for the magnificent view across the Orcia and Arbia valleys with the best vantage point located on top of the 14th-century fortress.
